Went to Diorio with a group of friend before my wife's class reunion at the Marriott Courtyard next door and, sad to say, I was disappointed. The restaurant has great ambiance and the drinks and service were both good. However, you go to a restaurant for food, and on that Diorio fell short of expectations. I will say that the antipasto and the calamari appetizers were excellent, but the lobster bisque was a big disappointment. Way to thick - almost a lobster sauce, and not much flavor. I had the New York strip w/ Gorgonzola cheese. Ordered it mid-rare, it came out mid-well to well. Very dry, not seasoned at all as far as I could tell. Thank God for the Gorgonzola or it would have been a disaster. I would have sent it back but we were in a hurry and everyone else seemed OK with their food so I didn't want to hold anyone up. Nonetheless, for a $38 steak in Waterbury, I expect it to be great and it just wasn't. There's a lot of great Italian restaurants in Waterbury for a lot less $$, I'll be finding one of them next time
