Goodman Theatre Announces Cast For A TRUE HISTORY OF THE JOHNSTOWN FLOOD

Rehearsals begin this week for Goodman Theatre's world premiere of A True History of the Johnstown Flood by Rebecca Gilman, whose work was most recently included in Time magazine's 'Best Theatre Productions of the Decade.' Commissioned by the Goodman and directed by Robert Falls, A True History of the Johnstown Flood runs March 13 - April 18, 2010 in the Goodman's Albert Theatre. Tickets start at $25 and go on sale this Friday, February 5 at GoodmanTheatre.org.

Intiman Theatre Extends OTHELLO For Additional Week Through 8/9

Due to audience demand and strong ticket sales, Intiman Theatre is extending its run of the Theatre for a New Audience production of Othello for an additional week of performances. Tickets are on sale now for shows on Tuesday, August 4 at 7:30 pm; Wednesday, August 5 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm; Thursday, August 6 at 7:30 pm; Friday, August 7 at 8 pm; Saturday, August 8 at 2 pm and 8 pm; and Sunday, August 9 at 2 pm (closing).

Intiman Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Bartlett Sher and Managing Director Brian Colburn, announces the first public events scheduled for its new American Cycle, which launches this fall with Robert E. Sherwood's play Abe Lincoln in Illinois, directed by Sheila Daniels. Intiman's largest annual initiative, the American Cycle includes productions of great American stories and free-standing programs that offer opportunities for people to talk, laugh, argue and ask questions about how ideas of the play on the Intiman stage connect to our shared history, their own experiences and the challenges of our lives today.

Othello is following Theatre for a New Audience's production of Hamlet, directed by David Esbjornson. Hamlet begins previews Tuesday, March 17, at 7:30pm, opening Thursday, March 26, at 6:30pm, and running through Sunday, April 12.

The New York Timesi s reporting that Theatre for a New Audience and director, Arin Arbus' critically acclaimed production of Othello will return to the Duke on 42nd Street Theatre, April 15th through 24th. The show will again feature John Douglas Thompson as Othello, Ned Eisenberg as Iago, and Juliet Rylance as Desdemona.
