The Metropolitan Opera announced today that it will present a free, live simulcast of the Opening Night performance of Terence Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up in My Bones—the first opera by a Black composer ever performed by the Met—on Monday, September 27 at 6:30pm ET in Harlem’s Marcus Garvey Park.

BroadwayWorld has learned that when Waitress returns to Broadway, the production will paying tribute to original cast member Nick Cordero, who passed away due to COVID early in the pandemic. On stage, there will be a pie on the diner’s chalkboard named the 'Live Your Life' pie, named for Cordero's song.
