Sherman Playhouse Hosts Auditions For THE SUPPORTING CAST, 4/25-26

Sherman_Playhouse_Hosts_Auditions_For_THE_SUPPORTING_CAST_20010101

The Sherman Playhouse is seeking four women and one man ages 40 to 55 for its summer comedy, THE SUPPORTING CAST, by George Furth.

In THE SUPPORTING CAST, the wife of a successful author has written her own book about friends who are spouses of celebrities and what it is like to be married to "somebody famous." She invites them to her house on the beach in Malibu to let them read advance copies and to break the news to them gently that the book holds nothing back. The whole bunch gets even more out of
control when they actually read the tell-all book to discover it truly does "tell all." But when the news arrives that the book has already been optioned to be made into a movie, they change their tune, brimming with excitement about which star will play them in the film.

THE SUPPORTING CAST is under the direction of John Taylor of Sherman.

Auditions will be held Monday, April 25 and Tuesday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m. All auditions will take place at The Sherman Playhouse, located at 5 Route 39 North (the intersection of Route 37 and 39), in Sherman, Conn. All auditioners are asked to arrive at 7:00 p.m.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script. No appointments are necessary. All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome.

For more information and directions, visit WWW.THESHERMANPLAYHOUSE.ORG, email information@theshermanplayhouse.org, or contact director John Taylor at 203-820-7192.

Rehearsals begin in May with performances running from July 8 to July 30 on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Sherman Playhouse is a local theatre company located on 5 Route 39 North
(at the intersection of Route 37 and 39) in Sherman, Conn.
