Long Wharf Theatre Presents COLIN QUINN LONG STORY SHORT 8/9-21

Comedian Colin Quinn will bring his incisive one-man exploration of world history, Long Story Short from Broadway to Long Wharf Theatre.

The show will take place on the Mainstage from August 9-21. Performances will be Tuesday through Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 3 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The production, directed by Jerry Seinfeld, has played to sellout houses on Broadway and received critical acclaim. "This easygoing alumnus of "Saturday Night Live" brings his own distinctive every-guy's perspective to the galumphing march of civilization toward - well, toward whatever it is we are approaching, as Blanche DuBois so lyrically put it," wrote Charles Isherwood in the New York Times.

In Colin Quinn Long Story Short, Quinn focuses his articulate brand of comedy on the demise of empires, including our own. More than standup comedy, Long Story Short is a hilarious blend of incisive observation, sharp commentary, and Colin's channeling of the personalities of the past. From Socrates to Snooki, Quinn is at his satirical best, taking on the attitudes, appetites and bad habits that toppled the world's most powerful nations. Colin Quinn Long Story Short proves that throughout human history, the joke has always been on us.

Colin Quinn (Author/Performer), a native of Brooklyn, he began his comic career in New York as a regular on the comedy circuit. Colin made his television debut as co-host of MTV's popular game show "Remote Control." Quinn landed a spot on the legendary late-night show, "Saturday Night Live," where he entertained audiences for five seasons. After "SNL," Quinn tackled societal issues on "Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn." Colin's first one-man show, Sanctifying Grace, began Off-Broadway in 1994 and was later produced as Colin Quinn - An Irish Wake and played at the Helen Hayes Theatre. Colin was most recently seen at the Bleecker Street Theatre in the Off-Broadway run of Colin Quinn Long Story Short and in the summer comedy film Grown Ups.

Jerry Seinfeld (Director) is a comedian who resides in New York City with his wife and three children.
