Kentwood Players to Hold OLIVER! Auditions, 1/14 & 15

Kentwood-Players-to-Hold-OLIVER-Auditions-114-15-20010101

Consider yourself invited to audition for “Oliver!” on Saturday, January 14 from 11:00am to 4:00pm and Sunday, January 15 from 6:00 to 9:00pm at the Westchester Playhouse, located at 8301 Hindry Avenue in Westchester (LA 90045). With music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, based upon the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, this much-loved British musical won several Tony Awards on Broadway. The Kentwood Players production is directed by Harold Dershimer, and produced by Rocky and Victoria Miller by special arrangement with Tams-Witmark Music Library, Inc. Production dates are March 16 to April 21, 2012 with performances at Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm at the Westchester Playhouse.

“Oliver!” vividly brings to life Dickens' timeless characters with its ever-popular story of the boy who asked for more. After running away from the orphanage run by the heartless Mr. Bumble, Oliver meets the Artful Dodger and is recruited to pick pockets for Fagin. There, Oliver finds a friend in Nancy, but neither she nor the boy is fit for a life of crime. The sensational score is full of Lionel Bart's irresistible songs including "Food Glorious Food," "Consider Yourself," "You've Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two," "I'd Do Anything," "Oom Pah Pah," "As Long As He Needs Me" and many more.

“Oliver!” audition times are as follows:
Saturday - Jan 14 - 11-2pm - Oliver / Dodger / and all ORPHANS
Saturday - Jan 14 - 2-4pm - Principals/Ensemble adults
Sunday - Jan 15 - 6-9pm - Principals/Ensemble adults
Monday - Jan 16 - 7-10pm - Callbacks - (with readings)

Tuesday - Jan 17 - 7-10pm - Additional Callbacks (if necessary)

Those auditioning for Oliver should prepare "Where is Love?" and those auditioning for Dodger should prepare "Consider Yourself" or "I'd Do Anything." All ensemble orpHans May prepare any orphan selections. All adult principals should prepare their character's music. BE PREPARED TO DANCE at the auditions. Please bring your headshot, resume, and appointment calendar with you as the rehearsal schedule will be posted. Advance appointments are not necessary.
