Born just outside of Boston, Pinette was named “Stand-Up Comedian of the Year” by the American Comedy Awards in 1999. In 2000 he received a Gemini Award nomination for his superb televised performance at The Montreal Comedy Festival. He got his big break shortly after leaving his full-time accounting job for a career in comedy, when he was asked to tour with the late Frank Sinatra. Since then, he has become a regular guest on popular talk shows such as “The Tonight Show” and “The View.”
Pinette has also enjoyed a long acting career in stage, television and film performances. He had a very successful run starring on Broadway playing the role of ‘Edna Turnblad’ in the hit musical, “Hairspray,” and supporting roles in “Duets,” starring Gwenyth Paltrow, “Dear God,” starring Greg Kinnear, and “Junior,” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. He can also be seen as the lovable ‘Mr. Bumpo’ in “The Punisher” starring alongside John Travolta and Thomas Jane, as well as the final episode of the famed sitcom, “Seinfeld.” His first Comedy Central Special and DVD entitled, “I’m Starvin,’” was released in January of 2006, and his second Comedy Central Special “Still Hungry” was released in July of 2011.
