Goodspeed Tickets Go On Sale 3/25

Goodspeed-Tickets-Go-On-Sale-325-20010101

Don’t miss your chance to get the best seats at the greatest values for each of the three musicals of 2012 at The Norma Terris Theatre. This is your first chance to purchase single tickets to each of the three new musicals. Tickets go on sale for the upcoming season this Sunday, March 25th and audience members are encouraged to call early for the best choice of seats. The Box Office will open at 10 a.m. this Sunday.

The 2012 Norma Terris Theatre Season features three fantastic musicals that are sure to please theatre-goers:  the epic musical Amazing Grace; an exciting summer musical yet to be announced; and the musical love letter to Broadway, The Great American Mousical which will be directed by Julie Andrews. Be among the first to purchase tickets for all three shows at Goodspeed Musicals, the first regional theatre in the nation to receive two Tony Awards.

From the director that brought you Camille Claudel, Finnian’s Rainbow and Pippin, this year’s season opener will thrill and inspire. Storms. Slavery. Romance. Redemption. Prepare to be swept away by this epic musical saga about John Newton, a rebellious slave trader, and the woman who never lost faith in him. While fighting the raging seas and his own despair, Newton’s life is suddenly transformed - igniting a quest to end the scourge of slavery. Based on a true story of the man who penned the world’s most recognizable song, it’s a powerful musical you will never forget.

Amazing Grace features Book, Music and Lyrics by Christopher Smith and Book by Arthur Giron and Christopher Smith. It will be Directed by Gabriel Barre and Choreographed by Benoit-Swan Pouffer.

Below the bright lights of Broadway, in the depths of the historic Sovereign Theatre, a troupe of musical-making mice rehearse a new show. When the theatre is threatened by demolition and their diva Adelaide disappears, it will take all paws on deck to fulfill the time-honored tradition: the show must go on! Filled with singing, dancing, and show biz lore, The Great American Mousical is a tribute to life in the theatre that celebrates the two most glorious words in the English language: musical comedy!

The Great American Mousical features Music by Zina Goldrich, Lyrics by Marcy Heisler, Book by Hunter Bell, Based on the book by Julie Andrews Edwards and Emma Walton Hamilton with Scenic and Costume Design by Tony Walton. The production will be Directed by Julie Andrews (The Boy Friend) and Choreographed by Christopher Gattelli (Goodspeed’s Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas as well as 13 and  Radio Girl at The Norma Terris Theatre.) The Great American Mousical will be sponsored by Essex Meadows.

Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012, single tickets may be purchased by visiting the Box Office open seven days a week at 6 Main Street, East Haddam, Conn.; by calling 860.873.8668; or on-line at goodspeed.org.  Special ticket packages for only $120 for all three shows are still available.
